With our new trading platform’s web access, you can easily access the global financial markets from your computer via all the popular browsers. There’s no need to download and install any software. Simply log in to your CFD account to start trading.
Features
The web version of our Next Generation trading platform is equipped with lots of useful features that give you more control over your trading. Here are some of the highlights:
Advanced risk management
Set risk-management features from the order ticket, such as stop losses, trailing stop losses and take profit orders. Or, let the platform suggest a stop loss for each position by enabling transaction-based stop losses. You can choose to trade in units or by amount. Stop loss orders will close out a position at your specified price to help you limit losses. Trailing stop losses are similar, except they move in the same direction as price when it moves favourably for you, in order to lock in profits. Take profit orders allow you to preset a profit level at which to close a transaction. Please note that your specified target price may not be guaranteed due to market conditions.
Advanced charts
Real-time dynamic charts with up to 5 years of history come as standard. With multiple chart types and over 60 technical indicators available, you can easily customise charts to suit your unique trading style. Plus, you can view live trades on a chart and edit your stop and take profit orders by clicking on the trade icon and dragging the stop loss and take profit levels up or down. If you’re viewing the chart for a product you’re interested in, you only need to click on the buy or sell price to open up an order ticket from which you can place a trade and set your risk-management orders. Our charting tools are indicative and provided for information purposes and must not be relied upon as investment advice.
Order types
You can choose between two different order types when you open a position. Market orders are when you open or close a position at the current market price. And limit orders allow you to enter a transaction at a predetermined price, and within a specified time frame. So you can tell the platform to only open a position for you when the price hits a certain level, and you can specify when this order will expire. Please note that your specified target price may not be guaranteed due to market conditions.
Factsheets
We’ve put together a handy Factsheet for every product in our product library. Everything you will want to know is covered, from the basics (like trading hours, margin rates and spreads) through to real-time news and some insights on how a variety of other market forces may influence prices.
Watchlists
Take more control of your investing by creating and personalising your own watchlists so you can easily monitor the performance of the products you’re interested in. Simply drag and drop prices into an existing watchlist, or create a new one directly from the product library. To personalise them even further you can change the colour of the title bar and easily reorder lists by dragging the products up or down into a new position.
News and analysis
The Dow Jones Newswires service is streamed live into the new CMC Markets trading platform. Get all your breaking news from around the globe as it happens, and never miss an important announcement again. Our team of market analysts, in conjunction with Dow Jones Newswires, write updates throughout the day on market activity, breaking news and big announcements. The style is short and sharp, and our updates cover general market conditions, companies in focus, economic and company announcements, commodities and foreign exchange news.
Customisable leverage
You can easily dial up or down the amount of initial margin you would like to pay on each transaction, and the amount you’d like to ‘borrow’ from CMC Markets. Pay for the whole position yourself, or ‘borrow’ most of the funds to open the position from us. The decision is yours. On our Next Generation trading platform, this is called customisable financing. Remember that leverage can enhance profits as well as losses. Overnight financing fees apply only on the ‘borrowed’ amount and are charged daily. If you pay for the whole position, there are no overnight costs to pay.

Portfolio mixer
The CMC Markets trading platform’s portfolio mixer allows you to pick and choose your favourite stocks, currencies, indices and commodities and bring them all together. Drag and drop any number of products into the mixer to combine them, choose a weighting for each one, and then follow your mix’s performance on a chart. To enhance and refine your mix, you can change the weightings, add or remove products, or even sell rather than buy. Compare the past performance of your portfolio and products to see how they react to different market conditions.
Fractional ownership
We’ve made it easier for you to allocate your assets by letting you buy and sell CFDs in dollar amounts as well as in units. So if you want to allocate exactly $10,000 of your cash to trade BHP, for example, you can: you don’t have to purchase whole shares. It’s a new standard in precision and effective asset allocation.
Drag and drop library
Welcome to our intuitive product library, where you can find the products you’re interested in quickly and easily. Sort our extensive range of products with our straightforward navigation menu – browse by product type, sector, region, country, performance or volatility. If you know what you’re looking for, simply type the product name, ticker code or nickname into the search box. When you’ve found the product you want to trade, just drag and drop it onto your dashboard or into a watchlist.
Create your own trading dashboard
Click once to pick up and move anything on your screen to create your own customised layout. Found something you want to trade? Drag and drop to create a quote panel and you’re ready to go. Want to monitor gold and oil? Drag them into your watchlist and you’re done. Fancy a chart? Just drag and drop to add it in.
Your CFD account
All account details are available in real time, all the time. View your account value, margin, open positions, orders, profit or loss, and a full account history. You can keep a close eye on all of your open positions and follow their performance easily through your account.
