Migration to Next Generation
If you are an existing CMC Markets customer and you would like to migrate your Marketmaker account to a Next Generation account, please follow the following two steps:
1) Register online for a Next Generation Live Account.
2) Fax or email a copy of the following documents to the fax / email address below:
- Signed Customer Acknowledgement Form
- NRIC
- Bank Statement
- Marketmaker Withdrawal / Closure Request Form to transfer funds to your Next Generation account

1) Will I be automatically migrated to a Next Generation account?
No. You need to follow the migration process described above to migrate to a CMC Markets Next Generation account.
2) Are there any costs associated with migration?
No. In fact, we will waive the customary $1.50 withdrawal fee when you transfer funds from Marketmaker to your Next Generation account.
3) What is the minimum account opening deposit?
We encourage all clients to fund a minimum of SGD 1,000 for their initial deposit (including transfer of existing funds from Marketmaker™ account).
4) Is the funding procedure for Next Generation similar to that of Marketmaker?
No. The banking details are different for Next Generation accounts. More information is available here.
5) Why do I need to send in a copy of my bank statement?
This will allow us to add your bank account details to your Next Generation trading account so you can withdraw funds directly from the platform in future without the hassle of more paperwork.
Please ensure that your name and mailing address on your bank statement are the same as your account registration details.
6) Why should I migrate to Next Generation?
- Lower financing costs (based on unfunded amount)
- Lower spreads/commissions
- Enhanced risk management tools
- New functionalities (i.e. fractional ownership, customisable leverage, portfolio mixer)
- iPhone and iPad apps
7) When will Marketmaker be discontinued?
We strive to ensure that all clients are given sufficient time to migrate to the Next Generation platform. However, Marketmaker will likely be discontinued around April 2012 so we are able to focus all our resources on the Next Generation platform and give you an even better service. The new platform will provide you with an even better trading experience.
8) Do you offer a demo account?
Yes. You can sign up for a free Demo Account. Our Next Generation demo account has no expiry.
9) How soon can I begin trading?
As soon as you login to the Next Generation platform, have sufficient funds, and have agreed to our new terms and conditions, you can commence trading.
